Presentation of the elective:
1. Part a is a practical implementation in the form of a Workweek. The combination with a technical education is desirable. See CIV-water program.
2. Part b (hydrology) is the smallest, and actually relates to the MBO (secondary Vocational Education and Training - VET) water- and soil knowledge. The aim is a good deal of self-study, resulting in a report (reporting/presenting) on one of the main topics in the section on groundwater.
3. Part c (ecosystems) consists of a relatively easy ELO (electronic learning environment) section to start with. An excursion to several fish passages, which will include a talk given by the manager of these projects, will follow. Drawing on the work preparation, the component will be concluded by a somewhat more difficult task: the students will, in small groups, invent, draw and calculate a new fish passage. The handout “Handreiking voor vispassages” can be used as a reference
4. Part d consists of the extended case study in an area of the region. The emphasis is on communication and entrepreneurial action. Talking to different groups from the area and getting a clear picture of what is happening in the field of water management are the first tasks. Followed by discussions with various representatives from the area, and finally attempting to present specific advice/solutions.
