Regional Case Study
Choose, in consultation with your instructor, a watershed/drainage area in the region where you are studying.
Conditional requirements:
- Sufficient area ( >1000 ha).
- Multiple area functions (habitation, recreation,
agriculture, nature).
- A specific water relating issue in the area is known
(stakeholders have defined a set of problems).
a)
Draw maps of the area.
b)
Organize with the relevant water authority an excursion through the area.
c) Conduct a survey among the user groups of the area.
(Central question: What are the important
issues for the people living in the area?).
d) Organise a discussion/question time with the
municipality, the water manager, wildlife and agricultural
representatives.
e) Propose solutions related to the identified problems.
